Yana is a jewelry and crafts designer, originally from the city of Dnipro in south central Ukraine. She lives in Newnan, and one of her artist specialties is giving new life to your forgotten ,broken or heirloom pieces of jewelry.

She can turn any old piece into something beautiful! Her signature jewelry sets, earrings, necklaces, and chokers are gorgeous, one of a kind custom pieces styled in vintage, antique, contemporary, romantic, and artsy motifs, as are her lovely greeting cards and ornaments. Her jewelry is stylish, well crafted, and easy to wear. Other unique creations include journals, home decor, miniatures, cross-stitching, and frames. She uses a variety of hard and soft natural materials, neutral colors, and incorpo-rates hand crafted accents into her designs. “I learned all about hand work from my wonderful grandmother, Maria, who taught me the basics: knitting, embroidery, sewing, sculpture, and so on,” says Yana. “I remember her every time I create a new piece,” she adds.

She is a graduated architect, and she focuses on expanding cultural relations between the United States and Ukraine. She and her husband, Yegor Shulyk, have lived and worked in the United States since 2013. He enthusiastically supports her creative efforts. In December 2022, they both became citizens of this country. Yana joined NCAA in November 2018. She continues to learn local culture and to make herself known through her artwork. She wants to grow as an artist and loves the people she’s met and the opportunities the Newnan community has to offer.

Yana was featured in the Coweta Arts section of the Jan/Feb 2020 Newnan Coweta Magazine. Also she was in the Southern Women Magazine Sep/Oct 2022.She participates in artist events. A selection of her jewelry was on display at the Peachtree City Library. “My message to those who are thinking about making art is: Just try it. Try, look, feel, make your own mistakes, and appreciate people who help you and teach you. You are so blessed to have this opportunity.” Yana is serving on the NCAA Board. She is delighted to support NCAA as a Director this year.
