Lisa Swift immersed herself in art since her early days growing up in Marietta, Georgia. She began by sketching her family and created her first self-portrait at twelve years old in pastel pencils, which she received as a gift. The mere holding of these professional artist tools ignited her passion for art that led to an insatiable desire to learn more and to practice and learn traditional techniques and processes. Pursuing this passion, Swift attended the Savannah College of Art & Design in Savannah, Georgia, where she earned her BFA in Illustration with cum laude honors in 1995. It was during this time that Swift really knew that painting was her passion and she continues to create works in both oil and acrylic/mixed media.

Swift has participated in juried shows in Georgia, New York, and California, has competed in many plein air events in Georgia, placing 2nd place in 2018 in the plein air quick paint in Eatonton, Georgia, and has been a member of the Open Air Meriwether Invitational for the last two years. Some of her paintings have been recently featured in the Senoia Candlelight Tour of Homes in Senoia, Georgia.

Swift paints in her home studio in Senoia and also outside, en plein air. She currently organizes the local plein air painting group, the Southside Sketchers. She creates large abstract works in acrylic and mixed media and smaller oil paintings when painting en plein air. Through her dynamic use of color, layering, and rhythm, Swift creates visual symphonies that resonate with energy and vitality. She has a passion for painting, whether representational or abstract. Her paintings will uplift a space by either placing you in a beautiful landscape or by energizing you with expressive, colorful brushstrokes.
