Clay & Jewelry Artist
Saturday 9:00 - 5:00
Sunday 11:00 - 5:00
Andrea began working with clay in 20 years ago by taking a six week pottery course through the Fayette County Parks and Recreation department. Little did she know that this weekly retreat from family and responsibilities would become a passion!
Andrea continued to attend these recreation classes for several years and developed her skills on the pottery wheel. However, she really enjoyed handbuilding with clay which, she believed, allowed for a greater range of artistic expression.
Through the past 20 years Andrea has continued her education in clay by attending workshops taught by such great clay artists as: Curtis Benzel, Robin Hopper, Chris Grydner, Gerit Grimm, Shadow May and Bill Van Guilder.
Statement pieces are her joy. When you visit her studio, you will see very few pieces repeated. Often similar but not repeated. Each piece is a one of a kind.
With the help of fellow artisans aka friends, Andrea established this Tour in 2013 which featured 10 artists and 9 studios. Boy has it grown!
1117 Montclair Drive, Peachtree City, GA 30269
From Hwy 54 or Redwine Road: turn onto Robinson Road. Turn onto Montclair Drive (which is the street entrance into Avalon Park Subdivision). 1117 is the 8th house (mailbox) on the Left hand side of the street. Continue past the house and turn into the driveway or park on the street. You will see the studio on the very right of the upper driveway. The studio sits directly behind our home.
During the tour
Great weather means the pottery wheel will be open to tour attendees who want to give it a try. The wheel will be open for use for 30 minutes at 11:00, 1:00, and 3:00 each day. 5 minutes per person if there is a line. Bad weather or temps below 60 degrees will close the pottery wheel. Saturday may be our only open day.
Personal and self guided tours will be provided to everyone interested.
Andrea will be serving up drinks and refreshments. Have a mimosa, water or a soft drink and some conversation.
Student work will be on display and available for sale on the front porch.
Functional and "display only" ceramic art will be available for purchase in the studio and under the tent.
We are looking forward to your visit!
