Stained Glass

Private Lessons

Sonya Adams creates stained and leaded-glass works that explore the ever-changing relationship between light, color and space. Her portfolio includes custom windows and doors, architectural installations, fine art pieces and the thoughtful restoration of treasured stained glass.

Sonya’s journey began when a storm damaged her front door. Stained glass artist Ken Barrett arrived to rebuild its panels, and a conversation about art led to an invitation to study in his studio. Through his mentorship, Sonya developed the technical skill and confidence that became the foundation of her own creative practice.

From her Fayetteville studio, Sonya approaches each project with care, precision and respect for the space it will inhabit. As daylight moves through her glass, colors and patterns shift throughout the day; transforming ordinary surroundings into experiences of beauty, atmosphere and quiet wonder. This is Sonya’s first year on the Southern Hands Artist Studio Tour.
