Christy Sears is a metalsmith, jewelry artist, and instructor with more than two decades of experience transforming metal into expressive, wearable work. Originally founded in Venice Beach and now located in Peachtree City, August Axel Jewelry Studio serves as both her creative workspace and a welcoming classroom where she shares traditional metalsmithing techniques with new and experienced makers. For the 2026 Tour, Christy will introduce a collection of feather brooches and hat pins created in bronze, brass, and sterling silver. Rather than reproducing feathers literally, she translates their graceful lines, layered textures, and sense of movement into metal—giving each piece its own character and presence. She will also feature new brooches and hat pins from the Totems Collection. Each piece begins with a color story and develops through an intuitive arrangement of form, texture, scale, and contrast. The results feel like small sculptural compositions: bold, contemporary, and slightly mysterious. Worn on a jacket, scarf, lapel, or hat, they become modern personal talismans, objects of adornment that invite the wearer to bring their own meaning to them.
