Hanley Lewis | Wood Turner
Tyrone, GA
Studio Hours
Saturday 9:00 - 5:00
Sunday 11:00 - 5:00
Hanley has worked in a variety of media over the years: pottery, stained glass, photography to name a few. When Denise “forced” him to take a woodturning class with her it immediately became obvious that Hanley would be the woodturning expert in the family! He loves spending time on the lathe, and his turned pens are a favorite item whether as a gift or for personal use.
Hanley is always looking for new and interesting ways to show off the natural beauty of wood while challenging his skills. His favorite item to make are wood-turned hats. These hats start out as a log weighing 80 – 100 pounds, and end as a beautiful hat light enough to wear (about ½ lb.).
Hanley also loves sharing his knowledge. He is often found at the local Woodturner's club helping newbies to woodturning discover their inner artist.
