My name is Alejandro Gallo I have been blowing glass for almost 4 years. I have taken multiple classes from Robert Mickelsen, a true glass art pioneer. I've also been taught from Jason Howard and had an amazing time visiting him and the Corning museum in New York. He taught me a great amount of knowledge that involves Italian techniques which I apply to my everyday work. In like manner, I have also learned from other amazing and diverse glass artist that heavily influence the way I work. I love working the thin glass and making goblets which is what I mainly create as my art.
Throughout my glass journey I have learned and related many techniques that not only apply with creating beautiful glass art, but also, with creating a beautiful life. Patience is probably the most obvious and relatable one. However the most intricate applications still teach me ways in which I should apply myself in life.
Finding glass as one of my passions has been both a blessing and a curse. It has consumed my mind, like when you first fell in love and It's the only thing your mind can think of from the moment you wake up to the moment you close your eyes goodnight. But to be able to manifest art through glass has enriched my life to the fullest. To be able to sculpt glass is to be able to find the medium between liquid and solid.
