Steven Stinchcomb is a self- taught artist who was born and still resides in Fayetteville, Georgia. He grew up farming alongside his grandfather on the very land he was raised on and to this day still maintains.
Up a low hill and across the pond from his home is an open air studio beneath an ancient but vibrant oak tree. It is here that he created his emotionally exquisite sculptures and where he currently paints.
Steven has traveled the world but says that his greatest inspiration "comes from this spot, under this tree on this land." It is a chosen spot in the middle of his acreage which has been transformed into a beautiful garden. It is in this garden that he maintains his closeness to nature. His artwork confirms that he is a child of the earth, but also manifest a spirituality that we usually see in the air, in the firmament.
Steven embodies the line of the poet "...While some men pray with the work of their hands. And carve their prayers in stone." - Ferrol Sams
Steven is the proprietor and resident artist of Turnipseed Farms and Nursery.
