Meihua Lu studied at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in the 60s, majoring in woodcut. She has been a member of the China Artists Association Guangdong Charter.
After college, Meihua continued to improve her artistry on her own. Her work has been shown in various exhibitions and publications from China, Hong Kong and Singapore throughout the years.
At a young age, Meihua realized that nature is essential to beautify the environment. Meihua describes the elements of nature as the fashion designer of Mother Earth. As a result, Meihua views nature as in different appearances and characteristics just like people. Her works often convey the humanized side of nature. Meihua chooses oil, her favorite medium, to create her work, full, bold and colorful composition. Free and dynamic brushstrokes characterize her oil paintings.
Meihua is a multi-talented artist. She has made pictures out of color paper, designed and made clothes for herself and her daughter, and taught herself to play the piano.
Meihua and her husband, Guanyu, a fellow artist, have participated in the Old Courthouse Art Show in Fayetteville, GA, and were awarded top places multiple times for their artistry. They both have works at Dogwood Gallery in Tyrone, GA.
