Angelo Robinson Mixed media artist
ANgelo'S STUDIO WILL BE OPEN FRIDAY FROM 12 TO 6 AND HE HAS EXTENDED His HOURS ON SATURDAY from 9:00 to 8:00 AND SUNDAY 11:00 to 7:00
Angelo T. Robinson was born in Austell, Georgia in 1973. A self-taught artist, he joined the US Navy in 1992, where he served ten years’ active duty and four years in the Seabees.
Traveling to Italy, Spain, Turkey, Greece, Africa, France, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Egypt, the Virgin Islands, Israel and the United Arab Emirates greatly influenced Angelo’s approach to art. The vibrancy, diverse richness and simple beauty of the cultures that he experienced are demonstrated in his work through the use of bold color, compositions and lines that capture the essence of beauty.
He is an 80% disabled veteran. His work is greatly influenced by a car accident that he experienced 1994. He was left completely blind for a week. His vision returned over the next six months.
Angelo has residual photophobia in his right eye and a crease in his left eye from the accident. Over the last few years Angelo discovered that he had to further simplify his process and his work to accommodate some depth perception and visual field loss. This led him to focus on a process of simplifying beauty to basic line and color where negative space is as important has the image itself.
Angelo currently lives and works in Senoia, GA. He is a father of four beautiful girls and two handsome boys. He is a member of The Society of Western Artists in San Bruno California. He is also one of the founders of the Senoia Artists Collective in Senoia Georgia.
I work through the eyes of discovery under the influence of passion seeking true beauty. I choose not to limit my creative process to one style or medium. I allow each piece or series to dictate what it needs, ultimately giving each character and life of its own.
I am captivated by mental, physical and spiritual juxtapositions. Art is neither stationary nor stagnant. It should overtake the viewer so unexpectedly that he or she loses themselves in a moment of exploration, discovery and realization. It should cause an emotional, physical, or spiritual reaction, or a combination of them when you experience it. I seek to extract one or more of these reactions from the viewer.
